Training

Academic Window LLC provides training services to school counselors and teachers. It does this to be successful in using the Academic Window web site, but also to understand the philosophy of the effective preventive school counseling program produced by Academic Window.

School Counselors should understand very well the philosophy, processes, and procedures that should be applied during the whole year. In this respect, the counselors understand and observe how Academic Window uses theories (cognitive development theory, social comparison theory, self- determination theory, self-regulation theory) and how they are applied through the web site and in practice by the application of positive psychology.

Teachers who attend the classes are also trained to be successful in effective counseling since, according to Academic Window program, they are the facilitators in effective preventive school counseling. They have the ability to motivate and to solve student’s possible future problems without informing them about the problem and without contacting them directly. Secondly, teachers are also trained in how students should participate in the program, how they analyze reports etc., since they spend a great deal of time with them and can explain the details at any time.

Reports

Academic Window provides many detailed reports confidentially and comparatively for students, teachers, school counselors, parents and also for directors.

The student’s reports are prepared in graph format. The graphs are organized to reveal students’ strengths and weaknesses. However, it is the teacher’s responsibility to educate the students on how the graphs highlight their strengths. Through this method, they better understand themselves and how they are perceived by their classmates. Students then develop more behavioral self-awareness and consciousness. They also have the option to share their graphs, and demonstrate their progress, with other students.

Certificates

Another aspect of the Academic Window LLC program are certificates. They can be organized by universities, then signed by two institutions. All certificates are given online, but if the member wants he or she can order the hard copy.

There are two types of certificates:

  1. Theoretical certificates which includes online courses and preparing reports.
  2. Implicational certificates which requires an application to be made in a school. In addition to theoretical certificate programs, in this certification, all processes and procedures should be analyzed and reported for at least one class.
